Our visitor's safety is our top priority. In an effort to adhere to current safety protocols we are currently not providing hand-held multimedia devices. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to offer these tools again soon.

Deepen your exploration of the DIA’s collection with one of our hand-held multimedia devices. Pick them up at a media desk, located on the first and second floors. All devices are free to borrow with museum admission.

If you want to wander the museum at your own pace, check out an audio guide. Featuring more than 50 highlighted artworks, the audio guide offers a narrated experience that features the voices of experts and artists. The Youth Tour is recommended for ages 8-12, and the Director's Tour is a great option for high schoolers and adults.

Looking for a guided path? Use Lumin to explore the DIA’s first and second floors with cutting-edge technology. Primarily a visual experience, Lumin uses augmented reality to help you see the unseen and imagine the art in its original context. See the Ishtar Gates come to life, view an x-ray of a mummified man from Egypt and more.

Slow down and spend time with one of the most iconic works of art in the DIA’s collection: Diego Rivera’s Detroit Industry Murals. Use this app to learn more about the murals through detailed highlights, archival videos, and insights from experts.
